We are staging our first public consciousness-raising event in our ongoing campaign against Camden’s busking plans this coming Monday (14/10/13) on Camden High Street, just outside HSBC from 4:30 onwards.
As you know, under Camden’s new busking proposals, wind instruments are to be banned amongst many other bizarre restrictions, so we thought that Kazoos should feature prominently in the positive campaign of resistance to the council’s misguided plans. If an over-zealous public official confiscates a Kazoo, then they can be replaced at less cost than a guitar! All are welcome in the Kazoo Orchestra and no previous experience is required.
At this informal event we will be handing out leaflets and collecting signatures for the petition as well as intermittently blowing our Kazoos in vague unison on the streets of Camden from 4:30pm onwards. If you would like to be part of the event, please join the facebook event page and feel free to reply to this e-mail if you have any questions. We want to let the buskers of Camden know that they are not alone, and to let the Council and Police know that there is an organised and dedicated campaign to protect the cultural vibrancy of Camden.
We will be gathered in the name of music, in the name of freedom and in the name of love!
Hope to see you (And your Kazoo) there!
Love and Peace,
Jonny Walker
